Epsom

August 31st 2005 and we close the Month of Music in Derby Square, Epsom

The following year we were back and this time professionally video’d by Jack Soriano.

We had a couple of medleys in the regular set. This first relied on the happy coincidence that two great glam artists – David Bowie and the Sweet – both released classic records around the same time that used similar takes on the blues riff from ‘I’m A Man’.

The second was a Led Zeppelin medley where we replaced the trippy middle section of Whole Lotta Love with Immigrant Song. Our effort pre-dates Andy’s time as lead singer for the tribute band Black Dogz.

The following year, 2007, we were back and some changes were evident. I had a new drum kit, Jack had two cameras and Andy had a radio mike.

Andy’s walkabout tendencies were already well in evidence and the climax where he mounts the statue of a Derby racehorse was probably never surpassed.

We were back in August 2008 for the Month of Music and in June 2009 for the Summer of Music. For that last show we were supposed to have an opening act on before us, but they called off, and we therefore supported ourselves; playing a scratch set to a largely empty square before changing in the Ebbisham Centre and reappearing as Slurred.
