The live CD “The Village Hall Massacres” was recorded at LLangunllo Village Hall and Michaelchurch Escley Village Hall the following day.
In between the two dates we watched England win the Rugby World Cup on the Welsh side of the border to a deafening silence. We then crossed into England for the second show.
I’m not sure that whether the previous night’s indulgence was a factor but the performance was patchy. Lola went spectacularly off course after a good start, so this moment of embarrassment was cut from the album.
The end of the night was often well lubricated – it probably sounded great at the time.
